Would you, could you, on your lips?

One of my son's favorite bedtime books is Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham. MAC future release - Peacocky - reminds me of this book. You can read all about the collections, with pictures, at Temptalia and Musings of a Muse (two great beauty blogs).

MAC is introducing two new limited edition lines for this collection. One is Mega Metal Shadow. This shadow collection is described as having an "intense metallic finish". I will need to see this one in person at the MAC store before I begin gushing. I'm reaching the age where metallics would probably make me look more like I belong on a corner rather than a club. But we'll see.

The other new line is called Kissable Color. This sounds like a liquid lipstick, which I do have a fondness for. These colors actually look very intriguing. I think I can get on board with those.

Which brings me to my "What the.. ??" moment. One of the new lipcolors being introduced is called, appropriately for the collection, Peacocky. It looks like this:

Yep. It's blue.

Ok, ok, I know MAC and Urban Decay have black lipsticks, and Illamasqua has a deep navy blue lipstick, but is this something the average beauty hound can pull off? Would you, could you, wear this on your lips? I have a feeling I would look like a corpse.

I think that while I will definitely be checking out some of the Kissable Colors, I will pass on the blue.

  3. Is it actually this bright blue on your lips? or does it go on more clear? I'm thinking if it's on the sheer side, one could pull it off with the right color of lipstick... but if it looks like you took a blue crayola to your lips then YIKES! :)

  4. I'm not sure on it's opacity. I'll check it out on December 26th out of pure curiosity, but I still think I'm going to pass!
